The Far Off Broadway Players, located in Glasgow, Kentucky is a local community theatre group with roots going back to the 1950’s. Surviving several reorganizations through the past few years, FOBP has evolved into a very active nonprofit community theatre with over 70 members. One of our main objectives is to present and promote amateur theatre in the Glasgow and Barren county area.
The group has staged productions in many different venues around Glasgow through the years to the delight of the community. We continually strive to offer a quality theatre experience for Glasgow and surrounding counties. We offer three productions each year at the beautifully restored Plaza Theatre. Although many of the original members of the group are no longer with us, many of the charter members and new members continue to keep the organization active and growing.
To learn more about the early days of FOBP when it was called “Glasgow Little Theatre” and later changed to Far Off Broadway Players, please visit our archive section for cast pictures and memorabilia from past productions.
We have an open membership policy and we welcome new members. Membership is open to individuals and families who complete a membership form and pay a small yearly membership fee. Current fees are $10 for individual and $20 for a family membership. Regular monthly meetings are held as announced. We invite you to join us and become involved, because as we all know, “the show must go on”.
